traditional butchers & farmers

We run a traditional mixed family farm, producing cattle, sheep and cereals.
We produce quality livestock in an environmentally sensitive way in order to enhance the wildlife that live along side us and to increase the bio-diversity on the farm.
Our sheep graze the permanent pasture and ryegrass leys throughout the year, taking shelter along the ancient hedgerows that surround our small fields that have remained the same size for generations, unlike many farmers we have not removed any of our hedgerows. The ewes are housed for a short period in March for lambing on deep straw bedding to protect the lambs from the elements and ensure their survival. At two to three days old the ewes and lambs are turned out in the lush pastures to grow and mature. They have a quality life which in turn produces a quality product.
Our cattle graze the pastures along side our sheep flock from early spring to late autumn. For the Winter they are housed on straw bedding and are fed hay and silage along with a cereal ration produced from the crops grown on our farm.
We feel our animal husbandry and the quality of our livestock is second to none which ensures quality meat for you the consumer.
